Sand Dunes Ski Trail
This trail is located on old Lake Michigan sand dunes and passes through a variety of vegetation including beech trees, jack pines planted by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1935, hemlocks and hardwoods. The "Eolian Hills" found in this area by windswept sand formations provide a variety of terrain and challenge. Six loops compose this system totaling approximately 35 miles. The trailhead is accessed off of US 2 along the Brevort Lake Road (H-57), approximately 11 miles west of the US-2/I-75 junction in St. Ignace, Michigan. These trails are generally groomed and skiing conditions will vary with weather and use.
